Newton Waterproofing, the leading independent designer and supplier of waterproofing systems in the UK, has expanded the range of HydroBond products to provide a wider range of waterproofing solutions for its national customer base.
The Newton HydroBond system is defined as "Type A" barrier waterproofing by the British waterproofing standard BS 8102:2009. It is a set of high-performance barrier waterproofing membranes, whether for liquid applications or sheets, intended to be applied outside the structure.
The new product of this series is HydroBond SA, which is a high-performance self-adhesive film for external waterproofing of underground structures. It can achieve high-strength bonding at temperatures as low as 5°C and provides excellent peel adhesion and The quality of crack bridging ability.
Type A membrane can also resist aggressive groundwater chemicals, is durable, fast and easy to install, dimensionally stable and flexible, and easy to handle in details.
HydroBond SAGM is also available, which is a gas-proof variant of the self-adhesive film with an aluminum core for gas protection while still providing excellent waterproof protection.

The HydroBond system can be pre-coated under the concrete slab and on the permanent raft and wall formwork. It can also be post-coated when the basement wall is exposed. It is designed to provide a complete and continuous external waterproof barrier for the underground structure.
After installation, depending on the type of structure and product used, the HydroBond system can provide protection against groundwater and underground gas, making it an ideal solution for radon, methane and/or carbon dioxide protection.
In order to obtain stronger waterproof protection, Newton recommends combining two or more waterproof types according to British Standards. Therefore, the HydroBond system can be used in conjunction with the "B-type" Newton HydroTank system and/or the "C-type" Newton CDM system.
